How to Take Care of Women’s Health
Women’s health is far more critical than that of men’s. There are many regular checkups that need to be done. Among these are mammograms for those 35 and above; pap smear for those 18 and above, and bone scan for those in their 50s. There are so many diseases that are unique to women that they have to be aware of. Being aware is the first step; the next thing to do is to look for ways to prevent illnesses. One of these is to exercise as this makes the immune system and the heart strong. Sitting down for long hours can lead to back and other body aches. The best way to avoid these is to do physical activities while working. Stand up every once in a while, walk around and do some stretching.
Eating right is one of the habits that every woman should develop. Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants that fight free radicals that cause degenerative diseases. It is also very important to supplement your diet because it is impossible to derive all the daily nutrient requirements from food alone. Women need complete multivitamins that contain some of the following: Vitamin A, C, B complex, E and D. All these work together to support the different functions of the body. An antioxidant supplement containing anti-cancer ingredients like green tea, broccoli and olive oil extract is also necessary.
At the age of 22, women stop producing calcium. So right at that age, they must take a separate calcium supplement in support of the bones. When the body needs calcium and there is no supply available in the bloodstream, it takes from the calcium stored in the bones. Calcium supplements restore calcium in the bones and add a ready supply in the bloodstream. This way, calcium in the bones is not depleted.
